Position Summary
Mount Auburn Cemetery seeks a highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative Senior Events Coordinator for a 9-month temporary position, with potential for full-time employment. This role will support the planning and execution of Public Events, Private Events, and Advancement Events, and serve as a key team player. Reporting initially to the Director of Events and later to an Event Manager, this position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional event experiences across the organization.

Position Summary
Mount Auburn Cemetery seeks a highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative Senior Events Coordinator for a 9-month temporary position, with potential for full-time employment. This role will support the planning and execution of Public Events, Private Events, and Advancement Events, and serve as a key team player. Reporting initially to the Director of Events and later to an Event Manager, this position plays a critical role in delivering exceptional event experiences across the organization.
Event Coordination & Execution
- Plan, manage, and execute logistics for public, private, and advancement events.
- Oversee event timelines, vendor coordination, on-site execution, run of shows, and event scripts.
- Contribute creative ideas and problem-solving solutions to enhance event experiences.
- Ensure seamless day-of operations, including setup, guest services, and post-event debriefing.
- Provide high-level administrative support: manage calendars, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and take accurate meeting notes.
- Offer strong support to the Events Team during a transitional period, taking initiative and ownership of key tasks.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with internal teams, vendors, donors, and community partners.
- Foster strong cross-departmental collaboration to ensure alignment and smooth execution of events.
- Represent Mount Auburn with poise, clarity, and attentiveness in all interactions.
- Assist in the creation of promotional content and basic graphic design for event-related marketing.
- Partner with the Communications and Advancement teams to align messaging and branding.
- 3–5+ years of professional event coordination experience, preferably in nonprofit, cultural, or mission-driven settings.
- Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is willing to pitch in where needed.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills; confident interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
- Creative problem solver who can stay calm and flexible under pressure.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools is a plus.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends in support of events.
- Start Date: ASAP (Spring 2025)
- Duration: 9-month temporary position with potential for full-time employment
- Location: On-site in Cambridge, MA (Hybrid flexibility available)
